Having been called to the bar in 2001, Iranga commenced his formative years as a junior Attorney-at-Law in the distinguished Chambers of Mr. Senaka Walgampaya, President’s Counsel. Iranga had the opportunity of being junior to Mr. Walgampaya in several landmark cases such as Samarawickrema Vs. Jayasinghe (2009) 1 SLR 293. Having gained considerable experience in all fields of law, Iranga left the chambers of Mr. Walgampaya in 2010 and ventured into private practice. He now specializes in areas of Land and Civil Law and has cultivated an extensive practice in the Original Courts of Sri Lanka.
Prior to being enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law, Iranga was enlisted as an officer of the Sri Lanka Army, where he was in active service for 10 years and ascended to the rank of Lieutenant. Iranga obtained his LLB degree from the University of Colombo and also a holder of the degree of BA Defence from the Kotelawala Defence University.
